Wood River Wetland in the Klamath Basin is part of a system of Wildlife Refuges and wetlands located in the Klamath Basin. This is the heart of the Pacific Flyway: Klamath Basin sustains over 430 species of resident and migratory birds, including bald eagles, sandhill cranes and pelicans. The southern half of Klamath Lake supports Bald Eagles year round. Howard Bay on Klamath Lake is home to nesting Blue Herons, Pelicans and Snow Geese. Klamath Lake is the largest body of fresh water in Oregon, covering an expanse of 133 square miles.
